Mission

The “G” in G&E stands for Gaia, the Earth Goddess who nurtures all living things, while the “E” symbolizes Eternity, representing continuous and everlasting life.

The company’s inspiration began with Dr. Kou‑Wha Kuo, who dedicated 23 years to Kaohsiung Medical University. Through decades of research, he recognized that many cures for human diseases may already exist within nature. Guided by this insight, he committed to applying pioneering biotechnology and drug development techniques—integrating the unique properties of plants with the mechanisms of human cellular gene regulation.

Grounded in scientific research and leveraging the therapeutic advantages of natural plants, G&E develops high‑quality, effective botanical medicines, health supplements, and skincare products. By harnessing the Earth’s natural resources to sustain human health, G&E strives to evolve into Taiwan’s leading professional botanical pharmaceutical company.

In 2001, an official letter from the Department of Chinese Medicine & Pharmacy invited Professor Kou‑Wha Kuo of Kaohsiung Medical University to present his U.S. anti‑cancer drug patent at a press conference. There, he met many cancer patients and was deeply moved by their suffering and helplessness. This experience awakened his compassion and strengthened his resolve to help humanity, inspiring him to leave the stability of academia and dedicate himself to developing new cancer treatments.

Although the path of drug development is extraordinarily challenging, Dr. Kuo never wavered, knowing he was pursuing a mission of profound significance. After years of research, he gained unique insights into cancer cell mechanisms and gene regulation. He realized that cancer could not be fought “head‑on,” as such an approach would ultimately harm the patient’s body. Instead, he turned to the natural plant resources nurtured by the Earth—seeking compounds capable of weakening cancer cells without damaging healthy ones.

Through advanced gene‑regulation techniques, he worked to alter the stubborn characteristics of cancer cells. Scientific extraction and purification methods were then applied to isolate active plant components and quantify them with Western‑medicine precision. This groundbreaking concept of “selectively killing cancer cells without harming normal cells” marked the beginning of an entirely new category of botanical cancer therapeutics.

Seeing his research bring hope and relief to patients further encouraged him, solidifying his lifelong commitment to botanical new drug development—safeguarding human health and offering renewed hope to those battling cancer.

The development of this new drug was carried out in close collaboration with multiple clinical physicians. It has secured pharmaceutical invention patents in 32 countries worldwide, and its research findings have been published in numerous international scientific journals.

The results highlight strong therapeutic potential in cancer treatment without damaging normal cells. Importantly, the therapy does not impair the hematopoietic or immune systems, nor does it cause the side effects commonly associated with chemotherapy. This achievement represents a significant milestone in the history of cancer therapy, offering a safer and more targeted approach to treatment.

Driven by a mission to save lives, Dr. Kou‑Wha Kuo devotes himself to developing high‑quality, effective plant‑based products that bring hope to those in need. Among his pioneering achievements is Hepanamin®, a breakthrough product designed to treat previously difficult‑to‑manage liver, gallbladder, and kidney diseases.

Building on this success, Professor Kuo extended purified plant extracts into a diverse portfolio of innovations, including:

  • Antila® health supplements

  • GlitEr® skincare products

  • Supportive nutritional formulations for cancer patients

  • Anti‑inflammatory solutions

  • Vision‑support supplements

  • Immunity‑regulating products

These patented plant‑based skincare ingredients have earned both Taiwanese and international invention patents, underscoring their originality and global competitiveness.

By combining Taiwan’s agricultural strengths with G&E’s unique botanical drug development technology, the company not only advances human health but also supports farmers, strengthens agricultural policy, and promotes high‑value crop cultivation. This integrated approach enhances farmland utilization and ensures sustainable development.

Through these efforts, G&E contributes not only to the treatment of human diseases but also to the improvement of living environments and overall well‑being.
